A Government of Kerala (GoK) undertaking, the Model Finishing School is a joint initiative of the IT Department, GoK and the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), with the support of industry-major Infosys. The IHRD is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the institution.
The first Model Finishing School was started in 2008 at Science and Technology Museum Campus, Trivandrum and the second one at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium Kaloor, Kochi in 2010
The Model Finishing School is a pioneering venture of the Government of Kerala, set up with the purpose of enhancing employability of qualified youth from the State of Kerala, which is one of the most literate and education-friendly states of India, has no dearth of qualified hands, both in the technical and non-technical streams.

Strategically Located

The institution is in the heart of Ernakulam, the financial capital of Kerala. The MFS is in the Second Floor of Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor in the middle of Kochi. Though IHRD has several centres in the District of Ernakulam, the MFS Campus is strategically located in the middle of the city, primarily because of its access

Network of Institutions

IHRD has over 80 Institutions spread over the length and width of the state, depending on the requirements, trainings are provided at various centres of IHRD. Programs like the Embedded System Design are held at Model Engineering College Thrikkakara, one of the leading Engineering Colleges in the state.
